ABOUT ABOUT

Solving problems is a large part of what nonprofits do every day across our region. From literacy to food insecurity to arts advocacy and animal welfare, nonprofits are professionals at finding solutions.

For that reason, nonprofits have much to gain from a design thinking approach. This workshop will teach you about design thinking - a powerful framework that inspires innovation and impact through new ways of problem solving. Together, we will:

  • Explore the five-step process of design thinking;
  • Use the framework to generate innovative solutions in a range of scenarios; and
  • Most importantly, consider how those solutions can create meaningful impact.

Whether you're looking to explore the concept or apply design thinking to a specific organizational problem, this workshop will offer a space to think through real-life scenarios in real-time (e.g. -  addressing a particular challenge; reframing questions and decisions, in a larger process of strategic planning; or planning engagement efforts).

At its heart, design thinking is people-centered and challenges you to work collaboratively and iteratively. So, real talk, information from this workshop can be applied to a wide range of opportunities within your work, both present and future.

Artists, entrepreneurs, and/or non-profit organizations of all ranges, sectors, and experience levels are encouraged to attend.
